As the focus of his commercial art endeavors for a over a decade, Jon Fraze worked principally as a freelance illustrator. Working primarily in watercolor, acrylic, airbrush and Prismacolor, his illustration work is marked by abundant detail imposed into a graphic sensitivity that avoids strict photorealism. More recently, much of his work has been done digitally, both in the realm of photo-manipulation and complete digital illustration.

 

His work has appeared in publication both nationally and abroad. Clientele have included work for Rain Bird Sprinklers, Kingston Technologies, Amazing Stories, Dungeon Magazine, California Magazine, Advanstar Communications, The Crystal Cathedral, Maranatha! Music, and others.
